Additional Authorized Drivers
- All additional drivers must meet ALL rental
qualifications in regard to age, credit card, and driving record as well
as all other standard rental qualifications.
- Must appear at the rental counter with the
primary renter.
- Must present a valid driver's license.
- Must sign the rental agreement.
- Must present an acceptable credit card in
his/her own name.
Age Requirement
The minimum age rental
requirement, is 25
All customers between the
ages of 21 and 24 will be charged a standard
additional daily fee of $5.00 USD
All Young Renters and Young
Renter Additional Drivers must have a major credit card and a valid drivers
license.
Young renters can only rent
economy cars through full size cars.
Blackout Dates
Dates when certain special
rates are not available or certificates/coupons cannot be used.
Normally during holidays and
peak-rental times of the year.
Border Crossing From Mexico to
other countries
It is prohibited take Mexican
cars into other countries.
Border Crossing From Mexico to
Belize or Guatemala
National Car Rental does not
authorize its vehicles to be driven into Belize or Guatemala under any
conditions.
Rental Process
When you reach the International
Airport in Cancun, go to the National Car Rental´s counter; there one
representative staff will have the pleasure to take you to the shuttle bus
area. This bus will take you to the Check in area, where another staff will
give you the rental agreement and will give your car.
Please, do not forget to have
your major credit car and your driver license.
Concession Recoupment Fee
Some locations charge a
percentage based Concession Recoupment Fee which will appear, in addition to
rental charges, on the Estimate Bill of Internet reservations (the page prior
entering name and e-mail information).

also.
Confirmation Numbers
Also known as a reservation
number, this number confirms your reservation with National.
Credit Cards
Renter must present an acceptable
credit card, with available credit, in their own name, at the time of rental.
Signature on back must match
name imprinted on card.

Customer Privacy
National Car Rental takes customer
privacy very seriously. It is National's policy that customer mail or e-mail
information will not be shared with 3rd parties except in the case
of contracted partnerships for the purposes of providing value added benefits
to our customers. Credit information will not be shared with any 3rd
party.
Debit Cards
National Car Rental will not
accept debit cards at the start of a rental. A credit card qualification is
required. Debit cards may only be used as a form of payment at the
end of the rental (once the vehicle has been returned).
Driver's License
In order to rent a National
vehicle, a valid Mexican or International driver's license is required and must
be "in hand" at time of rental.
International renters must
present a valid readable un-expired license from their country of residence.
No Learner Permits accepted.
Valid photo ID required.
No photocopies accepted.

National Car Rental customers
in need of emergency road service in Cancun, Merida and Playa del Carmen may call 01-800-849-8609 or to nearest National Car Rental office 24 hours.
All accidents must be
reported to the police immediately. An accident report must be completed with
National.
Fuel Policy/Charges
National Car Rental provides
a full tank of gas at the time of rental and offers the following refueling
options:
- At the time of rental, customers may
purchase the full tank of gas at current market price with no refunds
(charges may vary).
- Return with less than full tank and
National Car Rental will refuel the vehicle for a refueling service charge
(location's service charge may vary).
- Return with a full tank and pay no
refueling service charge.
Late Charges
National Car Rental
calculates rates based on a 24-hour period from the time of rental. If you do
not bring back the car on time, you will incur a late charge.
Mechanical Problems and
Accidents
You must also notify National
Car Rental within 24 hours of the accident, and you will likely be required to
complete another accident report for National Car Rental's records and your
own. This report is for both parties' protection, and is particularly important
if you have purchased a waiver of damage. Be aware that statements you make may
be made a permanent part of the accident report. Remember to be truthful and
accurate as your statements may be used in legal claims.
Once you complete the
accident report, you should be able to continue your trip. Be sure to save all
original receipts stating the reason for purchase of parts or labor, and the
amounts.
Minimum Rental
Any rental of less than 24
hours will be charged a full day's rate.

National is the way to go if you need options and flexibility when traveling.

Rental Qualifications
All drivers must meet the
renting location's minimum age requirements, have a valid driver's license,
clean driving record and present a major credit card in his/her own name at the
time of rental.
